Daniel Couillard:
Owner, Designer, and Craftsman
– Walt Disney
“If you can dream it, you can do it.”
My name is Daniel Couillard and I’m owner, designer, and craftsman at DPC Woodcraft and Design. After serving in the United States Marine Corp I wanted to make sure I continued learning new things and gaining new experiences. While working in home construction I found a love of turning simple pieces of lumber into works of art that our clients could enjoy for years. In 2012 I went into business for myself and started DPC Home Improvements which then soon evolved into DPC Woodcraft and Design. Having a simple focus on one craft allowed me to keep my eyes on what was most important, my family.
Being a self-taught woodworker has allowed me to explore the craft and fine tune my skills. Along the way my passion for building furniture grew and, in turn, sparked a deep appreciation for the time honored techniques and the masterful skill that goes into making a truly fine, quality piece of furniture. The thought that my work is hanging in someone’s home and appreciated is beyond humbling and I thank god and my family everyday for allowing me to follow my dreams and sharing my gifts. Jonathan Dershowitz:
Technical Director, and Creative Consultant
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
– SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL
My name is Jonathan Dershowitz and while Dan is the master craftsman, I am the brains behind the scenes as Technical Director. As Dan builds these amazing projects for you to enjoy in your home, I build the website. My tools aren’t a saw, hammer and nails; they are a laptop, a second monitor, and a keyboard. As a video editor by trade, I like to think that I have a good eye for detail, therefore, my phone is always on to help Dan work on new designs for projects that I know he will enjoy building and that you will enjoy having in your home.
Born and Raised in New York City, I now live in New Jersey with my wife and daughter. I have known Dan since right before he started this journey in 2012, and we have been good friends ever since. I have watched Dan start this business from its humble beginnings to where it is now, and I couldn’t be prouder of what he has accomplished.
I have always admired craftsmen and women doing the amazing work they do with just their hands and the tools of their trade. It is truly an honor to be working with one of my best friends in this endeavor.
